Data Use Agreement

Per our data use agreement with WisDOT, TOPS Lab provides accounts to government agencies and to organizations on active WisDOT projects or per WisDOT consent. If you are requesting crash data and/or crash reports as a non-WisDOT or non-government worker, you will need to provide a WisDOT Project Number and a WisDOT Staff Contact email. If they are not provided your application may be rejected or account revoked. Additional rules or restrictions may apply to other applications, which you can find below. If you have any questions please contact us at accounts@topslab.wisc.edu.

Citations

The TOPS Lab requests that authors making use of WisTransPortal resources in their research include a reference to the system in any resulting journal articles or related publications. See the WisTransPortal Author Information page for citation guidelines.

Community Maps

To access Community Maps click here, or go to the WisTransPortal home page (http://transportal.cee.wisc.edu/) and click on "Applications > Community Maps – TSC Crash Mapping". Please see the Community Maps contact page for contact information and technical support.

Crash Data and/or Reports

If you are requesting crash data and/or crash reports as a non-WisDOT or non-government worker, you will need to provide a WisDOT Project Number and a WisDOT Staff Contact email. If they are not provided your application may be rejected or account revoked.

To access Crash Data and Reports click here, or go to the WisTransPortal home page (http://transportal.cee.wisc.edu/) and follow the links for "Applications > Web Applications > Wisconsin Crash Data Analysis Tools". There are PowerPoint training slides as well as online help with the facility. To access the online crash map, click on the "Show CMAA Crash Map" button from the query results page to view the map. WisDOT Transportation Management Plan (TMP)

If you will be preparing TMPs in the system, please coordinate with the WisDOT Project Manager to get added to the TMP preparer team.

If you are a WisDOT Project Manager, Local Program Management Consultant, or if you will need to approve TMPs, please email wistmp@topslab.wisc.edu to request additional authorization.

Wisconsin Lane Closure System (LCS)

Here is the link to the LCS User Manual.
